New Jersey State Archives—New Jersey Early Land Records Project
The Genealogical Society of New Jersey (GSNJ) is proud to announce our support of the New Jersey State Archives’ (NJSA) New Jersey Early Land Records Project.
This project will expedite an ambitious endeavor by the NJSA to make descriptions of all New Jersey colonial and proprietary land instruments—for more than 80,000 documents—accessible online. It is the culmination of nearly a decade of work at the NJSA to process, conserve, index and abstract, and digitize these important early land records.
GSNJ will be announcing more information about this Project—and how you can help—in January 2017. Stay tuned!
Ways to Donate to the Project
Donations, of any amount, are welcome from professional organizations, societies, foundations, and individuals. All project donations will be held in a dedicated Project account to fund project-related activities. This includes costs for processing archivists, equipment and materials required for the project, and database development, among other items. Additional sub-projects may include online mapping projects, K-12 educational materials, and education and outreach. We hope you will help us spread the word about this important work and contribute to the project.
